In 2006 he ran 7,500 km run across the Sahara Desert in one hundred and eleven days to raise awareness of the water crisis in Africa. In 2008, he and his team trekked 1,094 kilometers, self-supported, to the South Pole in just 33 days - to inspire a generation of youth to save the world.
